In order to become a successful poker player, you have to learn how to value bet. A value bet is a bet made when you believe your opponent will call with a weaker hand. Sometimes your opponent will call an all-in bet while other times he will only call a very small bet. The ability to value bet allows you to get full value out of your opponent on every hand. If you are not actively thinking about value betting, you may be missing out on a lot of free money. Say you hit a flush on the river and you know that your opponent has a hand he cannot fold.
