Playing Texas Holdem Poker Online: Must Know Info

Playing Texas Holdem Poker Online: Must Know Info

Browsing over the internet we come across various types of online poker, hold’em poker mostly, the most popular American poker. Hold’em is also divided in subcategories of games, obtained by looking at the game from two approaches: bids and structure.

Let’s go over some of the most important types of Texas hold’em that belong to the bidding category. One of them would be hold’em limit or fixed limit. This game is played using sets of fixed bets. Here the players can only place the type of bets previously settled. For example in a game with the limits $5 - $ 10 the pre-flop bets and the on flop will have a value of $ 5 and the river bets will have to be $ 10. There is no way you can go all-in in this type of game, only if you are pushed by the situation. You can be forced to go all0in if you have for example chips equal or less than the value of the bet.

On the opposite side of this game we find the hold’em no limit. Here the players can bet as much as they want, no limits, even their entire amount of chips they have on the table at that specific moment. Hold’em no limit is the most popular and interesting poker game, the possibilities are vast and the level of the players that are engaged in the game is very competitive.

A combination between the two described above is hold’em pot limit. This is a type of game where you can only bet equal or lower to the pot in that particular moment when you have to place your bed.

Games that depend on the structure of the manner of playing are also found online. A first example would be the one that is called Ring. When playing a Ring game, you actually play a normal game of hold’em but you can sit on the table and leave it at any moment. You have to actually put money in the game to play it. The bets start as low as it gets even $0.01 or $0.05 and they grow from there until they reach hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

The sit and go type of game is some kind of a little tournament where the competitors are 6, 10 or 20. These are internet games that start once all the players are signed in and they don’t have a fixed schedule. Unlike ring games this one is played with chips and not with real money on the playing table. However there is for starters a buy-in and a fee for the organizers. At a sit and go of 10, only the players from the first 3 places will be paid, at one of 20 players the ones classed from 1 placed till seventh will be awarded money.

When playing a multi table game you must know that you are involved in a tournament with tenth to thousands of players. This game is much alike sit and go. The only difference is that these ones have fixed date and hour when they start. Let’s consider for example a tournament with over a hundred players will get a share of the money at least the first 14 in the end. the exact amount and way the payments are being made can vary and it is found on every site that organizes such tournaments. Some tournaments allow rebuys, meaning the amount of cash the player can buy a specific amount of chips during a tournament. Some allow add-ons, meaning that you can buy a specific amount of chips at the end of each rebuy period, usually during the first pause of the tournament. The money obtained from add-ons and rebuys is added to the fond of awards.

Finally, the last type of Texas hold’em is called heads up. This is a game of just two players, and the winner takes all. The rules are as at sit and go, and you have to play a fee and buy chips. This game is perfect for playing with players you know for a fact are weaker than you, or if you know their poker is not as good as yours.
